Dr. Terry Yip named Reviewer of the Month by ATM

As a statistical reviewer, Dr. Yip’s expertise lies in evaluating the methodology employed in research studies and scrutinising the presentation and interpretation of research findings. His insights and constructive feedback have earned him this honour. Dr. Yip is also serving as an Associate Editor on Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, and Modelling Outcomes in the Journal of Hepatology.

The peer-review process plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the credibility of published research, and Dr. Yip fully recognises its significance. With a deep understanding of the critical role played by reviewers, he dedicates a specific time each week, outside of his regular office hours, to review papers. This approach allows him to delve deeply into the content, ensuring a thorough assessment and avoiding the oversight of crucial details.

Beyond his dedication to maintaining research standards, Dr. Yip emphasises the importance of institutional review board (IRB) approval in ethical research involving human subjects. He highlights the importance of the IRB approval process in safeguarding the rights and well-being of research participants, guaranteeing informed consent, and evaluating possible risks and benefits.
