The Medical Data Analytic Centre (MDAC) was honoured to welcome Professor Anna Lok in January 2026 for a series of academic activities at the Prince of Wales Hospital.

Professor Lok delivered the Medical Grand Round entitled “Evolution of our understanding and management of hepatitis B: 1980–2025”, where she shared valuable insights into the remarkable progress in hepatitis B research and clinical management over the past four decades. She also spoke at the GI Journal Club on “Tips for launching a successful academic career”, offering practical advice and encouragement to young scholars and medical students.Professor Lok is Professor of Medicine at the University of Michigan and an internationally renowned hepatologist. She has played a pivotal role in advancing the understanding and management of chronic hepatitis B, and has contributed significantly to the development of guidelines by the World Health Organization and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.
